Christina
English Language Arts mentor for ages 10+
Co-Founder, Wildflower Homeschool Collective
Christina began her homeschool journey over 10 years ago, educating her four children in the US, Europe, and Dubai. With her BA in Literature and Certification in Writer's Workshop, Christina is passionate about alternative education methods and has taught for several years in private schools, various homeschool cooperatives, and served as a consultant for curriculum development. In 2019, she co-founded Wildflower Homeschool Collective to build a welcoming community that promotes organic learning, discovery, and faith.
Melissa
Passion projects mentor for ages 10+
Co-Founder, Wildflower Homeschool Collective
Melissa chose home education to allow her children the freedom they need to move at their own pace and pursue their own interests. With a BS in Communications and over 15 years of experience working in the areas of public relations, operations, and project management, Melissa is passionate about child-led learning and greatly enjoys helping children bring their ideas to life in meaningful and productive ways. Over the past 8 years, Melissa has been an active member and organizer of a variety of homeschool groups and activities across New Jersey. In 2019, she co-founded Wildflower Homeschool Collective to help build a welcoming community that promotes organic learning, discovery and faith.
Aisha Rehman
Global Studies MENTOR AGES 13+
An experienced instructor with a strong love for finance and history, Aisha leads our in-depth courses in Financial Literacy, Islamic History, and US History.
LANA BAGHAL
Global Studies MENTOR AGES 10-12
Passionate about Islam and the life of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, Lana leads our In The Time of Prophet course which examines global actions and impacts during the early medieval Islamic rule.
Mona
inquiry based Science and Math Mentor for Ages 10+
Like many of us, Mona grew up in traditional school systems but always loved to think and work outside the box, a tendency she has carried with her for her entire life. After earning her BA in Chemistry and her MD from New Jersey Medical School, she taught upper grades and college level courses for private schools, community colleges, and Rutgers University. Her passion for instilling a love of lifelong learning led her to homeschool her own children for a time, volunteer in cooperative-based schools, and serve as a rotating instructor for Wildflower for the past three years.
SOPHIA
LEAD MENTOR AGES 8-10
Sophia was first introduced to homeschooling as a youth while her parents worked and traveled with the United Nations. While serving as a teacher for nearly 10 years, she has chosen to homeschool her own four children through various ages and stages. Sophia holds a Masters degree in Education with Math specialization K-8. She has spent her last four years teaching in schools that emphasized Expeditionary Learning, a style of education that blends collaborative, project-based learning with character development.
YASMEEN
LEAD MENTOR AGES 6-8
Passionate and intuitive, Yasmeen took a huge interest in education after interning at a Waldorf school. As an experienced teacher’s assistant, and current Waldorf teacher in training, Yasmeen truly believes that education should be as unique as each child. Combining her love of the Waldorf philosophy with her Islamic values, Yasmeen aims to create the best environment possible for children to learn, play and grow that engages them through thinking, feeling, and doing.
NOURA
LEAD MENTOR AGES 3-5
A mother of three and Montessori Guide in training, Noura is passionate about nurturing growth in a fun, exploratory, play-based environment. She is full of energy and patience, and loves working alongside young children, helping them progress socially and academically while also working to overcome barriers that impact their learning and building strong connections. She is fluent in both English and Arabic and often includes both languages in her instruction.
