In this weekly community club, students will join a choir exploring the traditional art of Qasida, a form of Arabic poetry known for its deep emotion and spiritual themes.
Participants will learn to recite Qasidas, practice rhythm and expression, and accompany the poetry with the Daff, a hand drum integral to this art form. No prior experience is required—just a love for nasheed, music, and cultural expression! Join us to appreciate the rich heritage of this timeless tradition.
The intention behind this group is to create a harmonious choir of nasheed singers and daff players who enjoy performing at Islamic events.
Qasida instruction will be led by Lana Baghal and Afshan Abbasi
Daff Instruction will be led by Dalal Kanan and Sanjida Rahman
Registrants should have a passion and love for singing nasheed and/or playing daff and be comfortable performing on stage at small and large events of different venues. This club will be open to currently enrolled students at Wildflower Homeschool Collective and Noble Leadership Academy.
